Very good in the air, though he can attempt to be too forceful and try to win a header he has no chance of getting to, at times.

His key asset is his tackling, it tends to be excellent. The worry is that he is called upon to use it too often because his positioning can be suspect at times.

Decent enough on the ball to get by. He is not really a ball-playing defender, but he is not going to just panic and boot it up field when given time and space.

Very strong, it aids his tackling as he can use his body to muscle a player into a position he can tackle the ball from them.

Quick, very quick. His recovery pace enables him to cope with most forwards.

Strong in the air, but he does not seem to do well with physical battles to win the header.

Decent tackler, but not outstanding, he tries to win the ball by nicking it off the player or intercepting it, rather than a tackle as such.

Very good on the ball, better than he has shown so far in his Man Utd career.

It is not so much that he is weak, he is a strong lad, but he does not seem to relish the physical battle.

Good pace, enough to ensure he is not left floundering in a forward's wake, though not enough for it to be noticeable how quick he is.
