Regularly adds goals by making space on the edge of the box and hitting a shot. However he does tend to waste possession by choosing to shoot every time he gets a millimetre of space there.

Has a lovely style to his dribbling, whisking the ball away from challenges just in time, creating himself space.

Quick acceleration to gain a yard, but he is not the fastest when going at pace. He is not going to cause problems with pure pace.

Coutinho has a decent delivery from free kicks, both close in shooting and to put it on the head of attackers. His corners are not the best though.

Depends which Coutinho you are referring to. Usually he has excellent workrate, but when he was sulking to force a move to Barca, then he was lazy and did little.

Has an excellent shot on him, bordering on a 9 rather than an 8.

Loves to run with the ball, taking his man on and often draws fouls doing so.

Has decent enough pace, though he is no speed demon.

Good, accurate delivery from dead balls, particularly direct free kicks, where he is a specialist. As the old saying goes, he could open a can of beans with his left foot.

Far from a lazy player, though not so keen on tracking back as he is on getting forward, he does not shirk his duties to the team. As captain, he was a leader on the pitch for Lyon last season.
