Paul Scholes v Roy Keane
Paul Scholes
Passing
9
A fantastic passer of the ball, not just in terms of accuracy, but also choice of pass and range of pass. He could play the ball accurately over most distances.
Tackling
5
The weakest part of his game. Though he managed to create a reputation for being even worse than he was at tackling so he could get away with challenges most players would be booked for.
Shooting
9
His shooting is amongst the best of all time for a midfielder. It is no wonder he started out as a striker before gradually dropping deeper over time.
Match Control
8
His ability to control a game improved over his career. Initially he struggled to impose himself but he learnt how to do so over time.
Temperament
7
Scholes was very lucky that he was able to get away with kicks as referees believed he was unable to tackle.
Paul Scholes

Roy Keane
Passing
8
A very good passer of the ball. Team-mates have often said he was the best sidefoot passer they have ever seen. However his longer range passing was not as good.
Tackling
8
A very good tackler, most of the time. When calm and in control he was excellent, but could suffer a rush of blood which would affect his timing of the challenge.
Shooting
6
He could score goals but it was not his strength to score them.
Match Control
9
Possibly the biggest strength he possessed at his peak was the ability to control games. Particularly against the weaker teams, he could dominate in midfield and ensure his team picked up the result they needed.
Temperament
5
The real weakness in his game was his temper. It could flare completely out of nowhere and cost him and the team multiple times.
Roy Keane
